MAsT Metro NY meetings will normally begin with a 20-minute pre-meeting informal meet-and-greet period as people arrive. Dues are paid at the door, as well as membership renewals and new memberships. Everyone attending will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. Also, MAsT Metro NY meetings are for those 18 and over only. Please bring picture ID so that we can verify your age. You will be asked to take an adhesive name sticker, and upon it write the name that you choose to go by on it,. and apply it the sticker to a visible part of your clothing to help the Stacker and Facilitator to recognize you during the meeting.

There will usually be table with refreshments. Attendees are encouraged to socialize and partake of the refreshments during this time and at other subsequent breaks.

After we take our seats at the end of the meet-and-greet period, the Meeting Guidelines are read aloud to orient the group. Going around the circle, all participants will introduce themselves to the group by giving a name and stating whether they identify as Master, slave, or other. The Facilitator will then start the meeting by introducing the topic of the month. There will always be a topic for the meeting, announced in advance. Moderated discussion will begin and continue for about 45 minutes, followed by a 10-minute break. After the break, the group divides into two separate groups or circles: one for those who identify as Masters and the other for those who identify as slaves. Attendees who don't identify as either Masters or slaves are asked to respect the solidarity of each group by leaving and returning when the groups rejoin about 30 minutes later. Alternately, they may choose to sit quietly outside of the two groups and simply not participate in that portion of the meeting. After half an hour, there will be another break for about ten minutes, and the large-circle format will be restored. After Following another chance to hit the refreshment table, we regroup to recap what went on in the divided circles for about fifteen minutes. After the recap, the business portion of the meeting will begin. This is when we take care of Chapter business. If any voting takes place, this is when it happens, and only current members may participate in these votes. When this segment of the meeting is finished, the monthly meeting is considered to be finished, and we break down the refreshment table and vacate the room, making sure that the room is in good condition for the next group that will occupy it.

Some members may have interest in BDSM skills such as whipping, flogging, bondage, etc. as an alternative way to communicate and create highly intimate and mutually stimulating play sessions. MAsT Metro NY neither covers such topics nor offers to teach those skills. We can recommend that members interested in those subjects contact BDSM organizations such as TES (The Eulenspiegel Society) (www.tes.org), DomSubFriends (www.DomSubFriends.com), Lesbian Sex Mafia (www.lesbiansexmafia.org), Gay Male S/M Activists (www.gmsma.org), Conversio Virium (http://conversiovirium.org), and other area organizations to learn about using those skills safely and responsibly.
